You heard right, after 10 years of just League of Legends, Riot Games took its first steps towards becoming a true entertainement powerhouse.

Riot’s New Games available on consoles and mobiles

To mark the League of Legends’ 10th anniversary, Riot Games celebrated its hit game by expanding the world renowned esport title with even more games inspired by it. Riot’s new games include Legends League: Wild Rift, a 5v5 version of the popular MOBA created exclusively for consoles and mobile devices. Riot claims Wild Rift will not be LOL redone but a completely new game, built from the ground up, with support for twin-stick joysticks and matches made to last 15-18 minutes.

The eight-player Auto Chess battler Teamfight Tactics is also arriving on mobiles. The Android edition of the game will become available in Q1 2020 but players can pre-register on Google Play starting today. Teamfight Tactics – both the PC and Mobile versions – will also benefit from quarterly updates that will bring new heroes, abilities and in-game events. First such release called Rise of the Elements is scheduled to arrive on November 5th.

Riot jumps into the card game wagon with Legends of Runeterra

The recent interest for card games titles did not pass unnoticed by Riot as the publisher announced a 2020 release of Legends of Runeterra. The new title, based in the same world as LOL will be a free-to-play game that combines cards based on characters from the League as well as new ones made for Runeterra. Legends of Runeterra is categorized by Riot as “the strategy card game where skill, creativity, and cleverness determine your success. Choose your champions and combine cards from different regions—each with their own style and strategic advantage—then build the perfect deck to take down the rest.” You can pre-register for the beta now with a chance to participate in a special preview of the game from 10/15 to 10/20. Check the game and pre-register at playruneterra.com

Build your own pro-team with the LOL Esports Manager

LOL Esports Manager

Have you ever wished to manage your own esport team and receive the full experience of what it takes to run an esports team? What if it would be you the one taking the major decisions for your favourite roster, such as: strategy selection, pre-match bans and picks? Well, starting next year, you can. LoL Esports Manager, is the newest title from Riot Games that puts you in the role of a team manager leading a top-tier professional League of Legends team.

LoL Esports Manager allows you to create the perfect roster by collecting all the pro players in the world and compete against friends and other players through ranked play. The title will first release for the LPL in 2020 with the intention to gradually expand and include players from other leagues.

Project A, Project F and Project L

If you think that’s everything, boy you are wrong. Riot Games announced three more, yet unnamed, games that will launch next year. Project A is a tactical shooter for PC, similar to Overwatch, Project L is a fighting game using League of Legends characters while Project A is “a very early development project that explores the possibilities of traversing the world of Runeterra with your friends.” So maybe an MMO?

Arcane Animated Series – From Riot Games to Riot Studios?

Riot Games has a history of flirting with other mediums for it’s lore ( see the LOL-inspired Marvel comics) but with Arcane, the publisher took its first steps towards becoming a full-fledged entertainment powerhouse. Arcane is an animated show created for television that will be developed in-house, and animated by Fortiche Productions. There’s not a lot of information regarding the new series but from the trailer above it seems the main story will revolve around Vi and Jinx and potentially other characters native to the progressive city of Piltover. If that’s the case, expect to see the likes of Camille, Caitlyn, Ezreal, Jayce, Ekko, Twitch and Blitzcrank getting their own time “on screen”.
